Jobber quote follow-ups: what the two reminders do and how to go past them
Last checked: , against Jobber's own help center. Jobber changes its product; check the linked pages for the current version.
Short answer
Jobber sends up to two automatic quote follow-ups on its Connect plan and up. Each one goes to the client a number of days after the quote was sent, which you choose, by email or text, the same way the quote went out, for quotes still awaiting a response. For a quick repair quote that is often enough. For a big replacement quote, many shops want to follow up past the second reminder, either with Jobber's own custom automations or with a separate tool, but never both at once without a plan.
What Jobber's two quote reminders do
- Two reminders. Jobber has two quote follow-up automations, so a client can get up to two reminders about a quote in “awaiting response” status.
- Timing. Each reminder is sent a set number of days after the original quote, up to 90 days. It goes out at the same time of day, local time, as the original quote.
- Channel. The reminder uses the same method as the quote. A quote sent by text gets a text follow-up.
- Who gets it. Clients and contacts who received the quote, if “outstanding quote follow-ups” is enabled in the communication settings on their profile.
- Message. You can edit each reminder's automation title and its message text.
- Plan. Quote follow-ups are available on Jobber's Connect plan and up. Only admin users can open the Automations settings page.
How to turn them on and set the days
- In Jobber, click the gear icon and select Settings.
- From the settings menu, select Automations.
- Under the quotes heading, select one of the two follow-up cards to open Edit Automation.
- Set when it goes out: click the green, underlined number and pick how many days after the quote is sent.
- Edit the message text, then select Save Automation.
- Repeat for the second follow-up card.
If you do not see Automations in your settings, Jobber says you can set up quote follow-ups from your Emails and Text Messages settings. To pause one, open the card, select the more actions button (…) and choose Deactivate.

|---|---|---|
| Quote follow-ups | Up to two reminders for quotes awaiting response, by email or text, the same way the quote was sent. | Connect and up |
| Custom Automation Builder | Your own rules: a trigger, up to six conditions, and an action such as Notify, Add tag or archive the quote. | Grow and up, per Jobber's pricing page |
| Campaigns | Automated follow-up emails for pending quotes from the "Close on pending quotes" template. You can run as many as you like. | Add-on to Core, Connect and Grow, and included in Marketing Suite, per Jobber's December 2024 update |
Custom Automation Builder. You build a rule from a trigger (for example, X days after quotes are sent, up to 90 days), conditions (quote status, client tag, line items; six at most) and an action. The Notify action sends an email or text the same way as the original quote. Jobber lists “add additional quote and invoice follow-ups” among its sample automations, so this is how you add a third touch inside Jobber. Automations do not apply to past quotes retroactively.
Campaigns. The “Close on pending quotes” campaign template sends automated follow-up emails for pending quotes. Jobber notes you can set up as many as you like and should make their timing complement any quote follow-ups you already send.
To be fair to Jobber: it also offers Jobber AI, which it says can text, email or call a client from one prompt, two-way text messaging, and a Pipeline view of sales opportunities. What you see in your account may differ from this page; check the current feature list.

Why two reminders can be short for big replacement quotes
Two reminders fit a quick repair quote, where the homeowner often decides fast. A system replacement, a repipe or a panel upgrade is a different decision. Homeowners often compare other quotes, talk it over with a spouse, wait on a financing approval or a rebate answer, or simply put it off until the old unit acts up again.
Each of those can outlast two reminders. And a reminder that repeats “your quote is waiting” does not answer the question that is actually holding the job up. The follow-up that moves a big quote usually comes from the estimator who was in the house and knows what the customer was stuck on.
Put your own numbers in the Open Estimate Calculator to see what those big quotes add up to.
Extend or replace: pick one plan
Extend Jobber's two
- Keep both Jobber reminders as they are.
- Start your own follow-up after the second reminder has gone out.
- Good when the reminders already work for small quotes and you only need more on the big ones.
Replace them with one cadence
- Deactivate Jobber's quote follow-ups, or skip them for the quotes another tool handles.
- Run every touch from one place, on one schedule.
- Good when you want every follow-up to come from the estimator.
What to avoid: Jobber's reminders, a Jobber campaign and a second tool all messaging the same customer in the same week. That is how homeowners get two texts about one quote on the same day.
Stop rules any quote follow-up needs
Whatever sends the follow-ups, it should stop when:
- The customer replies. A reply means a conversation, not another reminder.
- The quote is approved. Nobody wants a reminder about a job they already said yes to.
- A job is created. Once the quote turns into work, the sales follow-up is over.
- The estimator calls. After a real conversation, the next step is his, not the schedule's.
In Jobber, the quote follow-up reminders are for quotes in “awaiting response” status, so keeping each quote's status up to date (approved, changes requested, converted, archived) is what keeps Jobber's own reminders in line.

How Dealvan works with Jobber
Dealvan is a field sales app for home-service estimators and their managers. It is a separate product, not made by or affiliated with Jobber, and it works alongside your Jobber account rather than replacing it.
- Read only. We set it up with you on a call, or start from a quote export. Dealvan never edits your quotes, and Jobber stays your system for quotes, jobs and invoices.
- One thread per deal. The follow-ups, the customer's replies and his notes stay together on the deal.
- Follow-up from the estimator. After the appointment he records a 20-second voice note. The AI assistant turns it into notes and a follow-up in his voice.
- He stays in control. Every follow-up is a draft until he approves it. Automatic follow-ups only run if he turns them on, and they stop the moment the customer replies or the job is marked sold or lost. A quote approved in Jobber counts as sold.
- A view for you. A pipeline from quoted to sold, by stage and by estimator.
If you keep Jobber's two reminders on, plan for Dealvan's follow-ups to start after the second one so a homeowner does not hear from both on the same day. We go through that on the setup call.

How many quote follow-ups does Jobber send?
Up to two. Jobber has two quote follow-up automations, so you can send a client up to two reminders about a quote that is still awaiting response. Each one goes out a number of days after the original quote was sent, up to 90 days, and you can edit the message.
Which Jobber plan includes quote follow-ups?
Jobber says quote follow-ups are available on the Connect plan and up. If you do not see Automations in your settings, Jobber says you can set up quote follow-ups from your Emails and Text Messages settings. Check Jobber's pricing page for current plans.
Can I add a third quote follow-up in Jobber?
Yes, with the Custom Automation Builder, which Jobber's pricing page lists on the Grow plan and up. Set the trigger to a number of days after quotes are sent, add the condition that the status is awaiting response, and choose the Notify action. Jobber lists extra quote follow-ups as one of its sample automations. Its Campaigns add-on can also send automated follow-up emails for pending quotes.
Will another follow-up tool collide with Jobber's reminders?
It can, if both send to the same customer around the same time. Jobber itself tells users to make campaign timing complement any quote follow-ups they already send. Pick one plan: keep Jobber's two reminders and follow up after the second, or turn them off and run one cadence somewhere else.
Does Jobber send quote follow-ups by text or email?
The same way the quote was sent. If the quote went out by text, the follow-up is a text. A client or contact only gets follow-ups if outstanding quote follow-ups is enabled in the communication settings on their profile. Jobber sends each follow-up at the same time of day as the original quote.
